The music festival will feature more than 40 bands in a paid and free area, with music starting on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at noon and going until midnight each day. 80/35 has drawn an estimated 30,000 attendees annually to see indie and jam bands like Girl Talk, of Montreal, The Flaming Lips, Ben Harper, The Roots, Public Enemy, Grace Potter, Broken Social Scene, Galactic, Black Francis, Yonder Mountain String Band, Andrew Bird, Man Man, Matisyahu, Titus Andronicus, and more. View previous lineups. Music festival organizers are encouraging fans to post their suggestions for the 80/35 lineup (local, support, headline, regional acts) on the official 80/35 Facebook page. Bands can submit to play the festival by emailing 8035bands@desmoinesmc.com by April 1. 80/35 is presented by U.S. Cellular and is organized by the volunteers of the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition, a non-profit movement committed to building a stronger and more diverse live music economy.
